Selecting Crate Size:
Select a crate size that will fit your dog when fully grown. Be sure he is able to comfortably enter, stand up, turn around, and lay down in the crate. Some owners measure their dog's height to the shoulders, and his length from chest to base of tail, and then add 4 to 6 inches to height and length measurements. (If a crate is too large, it defeats the purpose of providing your dog the sense of having the safe haven of his own enclosed den.)
