We all want our best friends to have the most comfortable dog bed we can find: one that supports the back and joints, provides warmth and insulation from the floor, and creates a sense of security.
With so many styles of dog beds available these days, it can be tricky choosing just the right one for your particular dog. The following tips may help in deciding which dog bed would be best:
Try observing your dog as he sleeps:
* If he curls up into a ball and leans against something soft, a bolster dog bed would be a good choice.
* If he sprawls out when sleeping, a soft, rectangular dog bed that gives him enough space, and is soft enough to comfortably support his body and joints, could be just the answer for him.
* Small dogs seem to love the security of deep overstuffed pillow-type beds and, for them, soft high-walled dog beds could easily be the best choice.
* For aging pets, a heated dog bed, orthopedic dog bed, or cooling dog bed provides comfort and eases aching joints.
